In 1865, Scottish born Robert Harper at just 23, established a colonial trading company in his own name. Importing flour, tea and spices he chose the lighthouse symbol to represent guidance and trust while providing the most demanding cooks with the finest of ingredients.

Becoming the expert in our field did not happen overnight, rather it came from decades of fine-tuning our craft and pursuing our passion for quality. Along the journey, we’ve gathered knowledge that’s allowed us to become baking experts. Generations of families always have, and always will seek out the iconic Lighthouse logo when in search of the premium baking experience, and we are proud to support them on their baking journey. We cater to all levels of food enthusiasts and thrive upon the moments where we get to inspire chefs, cooks and bakers with our range of specialist products. We hope that by using our products they’ll exceed their expectations and learn from the experience.
We’re based in Fremantle, Western Australia. A small port city filled with eclectic cafes, restaurants, beaches, parks, alternative shops, tourist points, old rustic buildings and modern grand designs. We appreciate the diversity in Fremantle and as a company, we try to reflect these same attributes. We draw upon our long history; however, we are also looking to the future and innovating. Combining the old and the new is what sets us apart. Our core values have not changed since we were established in 1865, however, we will always be looking to the future so we can support you on your baking journey.
