Cups around the world
There is very little more frustrating for the precise baker than finding a recipe only to see that the ingredients are listed out in cups. Here is a basic guide to weights and measures used in Australian and New Zealand cooking to help you measure it all up.
The Australian and NZ cup is 250ml, the standard metric cup.
The U.S. cup is 240ml, close enough to do a cup to cup conversion except in critical baking recipes.
The U.K cup is 225ml, enough of a difference to do conversion calculations in any baking recipe.
